WHY do I let myself get sucked in to this crap? *RANT*

Image
I am, as I have mentioned earlier, a Weight Watchers leader. This month I have been doing the job for two years - a fact that I am very proud of -  and I have been a member for 4-and-a-bit  years. I have been around for three different variations of the plan and have lost weight successfully with each and every one of them. Over 70lbs in total which I have kept off since 2008, excluding 12 months where I had a baby and had to re-lose 30lbs. As a MEMBER, I would say, if you're not losing weight, you're not following the plan properly. That's my opinion as a member. I can also pretty much say that as a Leader I could probably prove this pretty much conclusively too. [cap Screen Grab from the ad Anyway,  on January 1st, there is going to be a new WW advert released. Alesha Dixon (who, by the way has NOT lost weight with Weight Watchers, a fact I find completely  irrelevant as she is a singer) was inspired by all the weight loss and wrote a song to inspire more p...

100 Monkeys - They've Added a Couple!!

Image
You may or may not have heard of  100 Monkeys.  My dad has not heard of them. When I told him who I was going to see, he said "I've heard of 98 Monkeys? I guess they've added a couple?" You could probably  hear  my eye roll over the phone. If you have  not  heard of them, then you're missing out. Go to their website. They have a jukebox playing so you can get an idea of their music and then buy their albums. They're American. Kind of  funk rock, with other bits of groovy, nutsy stuff in there, and, well... just go and listen. You'll love them. The band is made up of (L-R above) Jerad Anderson, Lawrence "Uncle Larry" Abrams, Jackson Rathbone, Ben Graupner and Ben Johnson. Now, at first glance, you might not think Uncle Larry would fit in with this group of guys, but seriously... he's the epitome of cool and the band wouldn't be the same without him. Anyway, they have been touring exclusively on their own side of the Pond and then all of a ...

Driving Observations

I went to a gig last night in London. (more on this later) ( Side note: At 33 years old, I do not feel suitably qualified to say the word "gig", but it wasn't a concert, so gig it is!) I drove down there, over 200 miles, and then drove home again afterwards, leaving after midnight and getting into my bed at almost 4am. The things I do to save money *rolls eyes* I learned a few things on my journey. People do NOT use their indicators any more. It appears that they think it's okay to simply pull out in front of you with no warning and expect you to know that they were going to do it. I suppose it's a good for our reactions??? I know there was some talk recently of making everyone re-take their driving test after a certain period of time or else they have their licences rescinded. I'm beginning to think this is a good idea. People do not understand the "Average speed limit" signs. For those of you not in the know, on certain stretches of motorway...

Christmas Cheer

I will at least start with something cheery before I descend into rants. Hehe. Somehow, 2011 has been a speeding train whipping past before my eyes and I have barely had time to sit and get pissed on the bottle of wine we were given LAST Christmas, and now it's December again. But... aside from the mind-numbingly boring task of writing Christmas cards x infinity, it's all good stuff to come this year. We (and by we, I mean my husband S and my two daughters P & H and me) will be having our first Christmas lunch at home on our own for 10 years - well 33 years for me  - and we are getting the house readied for that. The presents are bought (though not yet wrapped) the tree is up and decorations are all about the house. I even found myself singing along  happily  to the Christmas songs on the radio too! I think the fact that I didn't see it coming has totally worked to my advantage. Or its advantage. Either way, I'm quite excited. It's been fun explaining to P...

Randomness Ahoy!

I've tried making several blogs in the past. All with very specific themes. I can never keep them going. So this time, I'm just going to do a very general one. No themes. Just me doing what I do best. Which is alternately rambling or ranting, and occasionally squeeing about stuff that my husband just rolls his eyes at. Like today for instance... I run a Twilight blog (and yes - at the mere mention of Twilight I know about half the population just probably rolled its eyes, but you know what? I know a HELL of a lot of people who WILL be interested so with a non-specific blog, those who are not, can just skip, can't they?) Where was I?  Oh yes, Twilight blog... with one of best friends in the world, Cat. I saw a post she is planning which has included in it how she came to find Twilight, what she thought while reading it and what it means to her. I am an epileptic and a lot of my memories of that first time have already gone, so it inspired me to get that written down while...
